The Zombie Cocktail is the original cocktail that kicked-off the Tike craze. The Zombie is a boozy cocktail filled with fruit juice, run, and other liqueurs. Don't be fooled by this innocent tasting cocktail, this is filled with rum and packs a punch that could render the drinker a "zombie".A Zombie should be served in a tall glass over ice and garnished with a green and red maraschino cherries and a slice of orange. It should be served with a straw.
In a tall cocktail glass filled with crushed ice add each ingredient except the 151 rum in order.
Float the 151 rum by pouring it over a bar spoon or regular spoon.
Garnish with a red and green Maraschino cherry and an orange slice.
Serve and drink with a straw.
Falernum – is a liqueur made with white rum infused with spices and lime juice. It is used in a lot of the Tiki Bar cocktails and can be difficult to find here is a homemade Falernum recipe that works well. Or buy it online from Latitude 29, this is clean crisp syrup without alcohol. Perfect for all your Tiki drinks. Many Zombie recipes call for this to be blended and served frozen, I'm not a fan. The flavors are better defined over crushed ice, but it's a personal preference.
