Worlds Best Paloma - Fresh Pink Grapefruit, Lime and Simple syrup

Simply the most refreshing cocktail in the world. The Paloma is Mexicos most popular Tequilla drink (who knew). This version made with fresh squeezed pink grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed lime and a touch of simple syrup is about to become your new favorite drink. A Mexican vacation in a glass. Sit back, relax and sip.
Moisten the outer rim of a highball glass with a lime wedge and coat lightly with salt. This step is optional.
Fill the glass with ice.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add the tequila, grapefruit and lime juices and simple syrup; shake well.
Strain into the glass.
Gently stir in the club soda and garnish with a lime and grapefruit wedges.
*To make simple syrup the quick and easy way...For years I boiled water, added sugar and "cooked" the syrup until the sugar dissolved and then had to wait overnight for the syrup to cool. I just always kept a bottle of simple syrup in the fridge for cocktails. Then one day I needed simple syrup and didn't have time to go through the whole process. So I just combined 1 part water and 1 part sugar in a bottle and shook to combine and dissolve the sugar.
