Simple Cedar Plank Salmon Burger Recipe

This Simple Cedar Plank Salmon Burger is topped a with creamy artichoke and spinach spread. I love cedar plank cooking and its perfect for this salmon burger.  To finish this burger I top it with a creamy artichoke and spinach spread.  Very Yummm!

Simple Cedar Plank Salmon Burger

To make this an easy stress-free recipe I call for buying salmon patties or burgers from the market.  There are plenty of great tutorials if you'd like to make your own.  I'm lucky that I can buy amazing fresh patties.  Most supermarkets have a selection of salmon patties with a variety of flavorings.  I prefer just a plain salmon patty for this recipe, but feel free to customize.

  • 36 oz salmon patties, six 6 oz patties
  • 2 cedar planks
  • salt and pepper - to taste
  • 12 oz spinach and artichoke spread - link to recipe is in the notes
  • 6 whole wheat buns


  • Soak cedar planks well in water
  • Heat Grill to 400 degrees F
  • Place cedar plank directly on the grates of the grill for 3 to 4 minutes until the plank begins to smoke.
  • Place patties on the cedar plank and cook 4 minutes per side
  • Heat rolls
  • Add artichoke and spinach spread to the bottom of the roll
  • Top with Salmon Burger and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Add the top of the bun.
  • Serve hot
