12 Essential Oils That Naturally Repel Mosquito Bites
These essential oils have bug repelling properties. You probably have all or some of them at home already.
- Lavender
- Pine
- Basil
- Peppermint
- Vetiver
- Thyme
- Lemon Eucalyptus
- Tea Tree
- Lemongrass
- Catnip
- Citronella
- Rosemary
How To Make Essential Oil Bug Repellent
Use a pleasing combination of any of the oils listed above.
What you’ll need:
- Amber glass or stainless steel spray bottle
- With Hazel
- vegetable glycerin
Directions:
- Fill an amber spray or stainless steel (my preference) bottle 1/2 full with distilled or boiled water. Don’t use plastic.
- Add witch’s hazel.
- Add 1/2 tsp vegetable glycerin.
- Add 30-50 drops of the essential oils listed above to achieve your desired scent. The more oils you use, the stronger your bug spray will be.
Play with different combinations of essential oils until you get the perfect scent for you.
Essential Oil Bug Repellent Recipes to Try:
- 10 drops Rosemary + 10 drops Grapefruit + 5 drop Tea Tree
- !0 drops Lemongrass + 10 drops Grapefruit + 10 drops Rosemary
- 10 drops of Lemongrass + 10 drops of Lemon Eucalyptus + 5 drops Tea Tree + Lavender
- 10 drops of Lemongrass + 10 drops of Lemon Eucalyptus + 5 drops Tea Tree + Lavender
- 25 drops of Lavender + 25 drops of Peppermint
- 10 drops of Lemon Eucalyptus + 10 drops of Vetiver
