I love New Years but I don’t love getting on the road and driving. So we always host a New Years Eve appetizer party. Most of our guests are neighbors and anyone driving is offered a bed, a couch or some other accommodation close by. We don’t want anyone driving.
Cheese Platter with a variety of cheese, bacon wrapped dates, nuts, crackers, with a drizzle of honey, roasted veggies, a charcuterie platter, olives, and raw veggies with a variety of dips.
Choose a signature cocktail and make a large batch. Then set up a bar outfitted with Vodka, Gin, Bourbon or Whiskey and Tequilla and basic mixers like Coca-Cola, ginger ale or ginger beer, cranberry juice, orange juice, grapefruit juice, and a plain simple syrup. Serve with lime and lemon wedges, lemon twists, and olives. Make sure you have plenty of ice.
