Ingredients

Blackberry Sage Lemonade

  • 1 cup lemon juice Approx. 6 lemons
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 to 6 cups cold water
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh sage leaves

Hard Blackberry Lemonade Cocktail

  • 2 oz Vodka per serving

Instructions

Blackberry Sage Lemonade

  1. Juice the lemons, you will want about 1 cup of lemon juice. Strain the juice if you prefer pulp-free lemonade.
  2. Prepare simple syrup using 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring the water and sugar to a boil, stirring, until sugar is dissolved.  ** If you need to make this quickly or just don't want to wait for the syrup to cool combine the water and sugar in a container with a lid and shake vigorously until sugar has dissolved.
  3. Combine lemon juice and simple syrup and allow the lemon and sugar combination to cool.
  4. **Adjust the proportions of lemon juice to simple syrup to change the sweetness or tartness of the lemonade to suit your preference.
  5. Place blackberries in a food processor with sage and 1/4 cup lemon simple syrup and puree until smooth.

  6. Add 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher, mix well
  7. Taste lemonade and add more water until you reach the desired sweet-tart balance.
  8. Place blackberry sage puree in a large pitcher.

  9. Add 4 cups of cold water and the remaining lemon simple syrup.  Add more cold water as desired.
