Ingredients

  • 4 100% all beef hot dogs or use chicken or turkey hot dogs
  • 12 oz white wine or water
  • 2 heirloom tomatoes thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup red onion finely diced
  • 4 farmer's market baguette
  • 4 oz creamy blue cheese
  • 1 T fresh basil roughly chopped
  • 1 cup quick pickled cabbage
  • 1 green onion chopped, including green tops
  • 1 T stone ground mustard
  • 4 slices peppered bacon cooked, until crispy

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat a grill to 400° to 435° F.

  2. In a saucepan large enough to lay hot dogs flat, bring the wine or water to a gentle boil. Turn off heat. Once liquid has stopped boiling add the hot dogs and cover. Let sit simmering for 3-4 minutes.

  3. Place hot dogs on the 400° - 425° grill. Grill, turning frequently for even cooking, until well charred on the outside.

  4. When the hot dogs are just about done lower heat and quickly grill each bun and set aside.

  5. Add tomato slices to one side of the baguette and add red onion to the other side.

  6. Top with grilled hot dogs.

  7. Top with blue cheese, pickled cabbage, green onion, and basil. Drizzle with stoneground mustard.
