Gambas Al Ajillo | Spanish Garlic Prawns
A favorite dish in Spanish tapas bars and restaurants. This yummy shrimp dish is swimming in the most delicious sauce of butter and garlic.
Easy to make and always a hit.
Serve with a simple green salad and crusty bread for sopping up the amazing sauce.
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 lbs shrimp peeled and deveined
- 5 garlic cloves minced (more if you are a garlic lover)
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 t paprika
- 1/2 t red pepper flakes to taste
- 4 T flat leaf parsley chopped
- fresh ground pepper
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes sliced in half
Heat the olive oil and butter In a wide, shallow sauté pan or my favorite Calphalon Everyday pan over medium-high heat.
Add the Shrimp and Garlic and sauté quickly for about 2-3 minutes, until shrimp is pink and opaque.
Add cherry tomatoes.
Add the lemon juice, paprika, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer to a warmed serving dish, sprinkle with the parsley and serve at once with crusty bread.
This recipe makes 4 main courses or 8 appetizers.
