Gambas Al Ajillo | Classic Spanish Garlic Shrimp Tapas. This buttery, garlicky rendition of the Spanish tapas favorite is super fast and easy.
This is a super easy and fast appetizer or main dish. It cooks in less than 10 minutes.
Serve with a simple green salad and crusty bread.
Gambas Al Ajillo | Spanish Garlic Prawns
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 lbs shrimp - peeled and deveined
- 5 garlic cloves - minced (more if you are a garlic lover)
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 t paprika
- 1/2 t red pepper flakes - to taste
- 4 T flat leaf parsley - chopped
- salt
- fresh ground pepper
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes - sliced in half
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil and butter In a wide, shallow sauté pan or my favorite Calphalon Everyday pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the Shrimp and Garlic and sauté quickly for about 2-3 minutes, until shrimp is pink and opaque.
- Add cherry tomatoes.
- Add the lemon juice, paprika, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer to a warmed serving dish, sprinkle with the parsley and serve at once with crusty bread.
