Ok, I get it – Balsamic and Strawberries? Actually, the first time I had this dessert in Nappa – it was called “Strawberries macerated in Balsamic Vinegar” and it was served with brown sugar and sour cream. I really wanted the chocolate cake, but friends convinced me to try this and I’m so glad they did. I love this, and friends are always surprised to learn that the berries are marinated in balsamic.

Easy Balsamic Marinated Strawberries
- 1 pint strawberries fresh and ripe
- 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 T brown sugar
- Wash and top a pint of strawberries.
- Marinate them in balsamic vinegar and brown sugar in refrigerator 1 – 4 hours.
- Serve with whipped cream, over vanilla ice cream; or in the traditional style with sour cream.
