Buffalo Sauce Hot Dog Recipe

The Buffalo Sauce Hot Dog just might be my favorite hot dog ever.  I’m obsessed with Buffalo everything.

These are so good.  This is a hot dog cooked in Buffalo sauce, shaved blue cheese, and shaved celery, then topped with a Buffalo sauce drizzle.

Use your favorite Buffalo sauce or try the original Anchor Bar Buffalo Sauce recipe.

Doesn’t get better than this.

Use your favorite buffalo sauce or make this copycat Anchor Bar Buffalo Sauce.



  • 4 100% all beef hot dogs or use chicken or turkey hot dogs
  • 1 ½ cup Buffalo sauce see notes for recipe
  • 4 oz grated or crumbled blue cheese
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • ¼ cup celery shaved


  1. Pre-heat a grill to 400° to 435° F.

  2. In a saucepan large enough to lay hot dogs flat, make the buffalo sauce.

  3. Reserve a ¼ cup of the buffalo sauce for drizzling.

  4. Add the hot dogs and cover. Let sit simmering for 3-4 minutes.

  5. Place hot dogs on the 400° - 425° grill. Grill, turning frequently for even cooking, until well charred on the outside.

  6. When the hot dogs are just about done lower heat and quickly grill each bun and set aside.

  7. Top with grilled hot dogs.

  8. Top with grated blue cheese, and shaved celery then drizzle with Buffalo sauce,
