Budget-Friendly Chili Seasoning Spice Mix
Use this easy chili spice mix to make chili, tacos, and fajitas.
Chili Seasoning Spice Mix
Make a big batch of this spice mix so you will have it on hand the next time you are craving chili or tacos.
This is super easy to make and a lot cheaper than buying prepackaged spice mixes + you have the added benefit of no unwanted ingredients like preservatives and anti-caking chemicals.
- ½ cup paprika
- 1/2 cup cumin
- 1/3 cup onion powder
- 1/3 cup garlic powder
- 1/4 cup chipotle chili powder
- 1/4 cup chili powder good quality
- 1/4 cup dried oregano
- 2 1/2 T salt
- 1-2 T red pepper flakes
Whisk together all ingredients. Combine thoroughly.
Store in a glass airtight container for up to 6 months
Buy spices you use frequently in bulk at a wholesale store like BJ's, Costco, or Sam's and store in a cool spot in a dark pantry.
Just remember, don't buy more than you can use in 6 months. After six months spices begin to lose potency and the fresh flavor you count on to make your recipes sing.
When you are ready to use this spice blend mix again thoroughly, spices will settle during storage.
